Organizations working in social or environmental causes need to apply traditional business tools to have an efficient management. Besides the social impact, the project must have a clear business model, assuming hiring good professionals to maximize the impact. Social projects with economic sustainability will have greater and extended in time impact.
Furthermore, companies should also align their business with some social causes that relate to their core business or not. They should create, adapt and improve indicators that measure the social and environmental impact.
Therefore, social businesses have to seek economic sustainability and companies must commit to measure and improve the social and environmental impact they generate.
The computer revolution was six decades ago, the microprocessor was invented four decades ago, the modern internet came up two decades ago, at this time all of the technology required to transform industries through software finally works and can be delivered at global scale.
Lower start-up costs and a vastly expanded market for online services, give us the result that a global economy can will be fully digitally wired. So, companies in every industry need to assume that a software revolution is coming.
The most important thing here is that education and skills that are required to participate in the new economy, must be developed urgent. Schools, governments and companies should be aware of this, and move forward to educate people about constantly innovation in an uncertainty´s ecosystem.
I think we should learn how to apply marketing and branding principles to spread the word for making the world a better place.
I am a strong believer that entrepreneurship can change the world and social and environmental impact can be achieve using the right technology. Lets put branding on that, spreading the right words.
